TERMS

​​​Please read carefully. If you do not understand the meaning of any terms below please feel free to contact us or look up the meaning of the word / phrase.

INSURANCE COVERAGE: If your goods are damaged due to our negligence, our maximum liability to you is .60 cents per pound per article. If your goods are damaged, you will be entitled to recover the lesser of the decrease in value of the item lost or destroyed, or .60 cents multiplied by the weight of the article(s). Because the carrier’s liability is fixed at .60 cents per pound, there is no minimum. 

​​You must have pictures of items to submit a claim.

​Our maximum liability to you for damage is .60 cents per pound per article only. Total loss only. Dings, dents, scratches or dirt are not a total loss.

EXAMPLE: 10 pound chair X .60 cents = $6.00. You would be allowed a maximum of $6.00 for that one chair. There is no deductible. This is per piece, not per set, i.e., if one china plate is broken only that plate is subject to repair, replacement, or cash settlement at .60 cents per lb., not the entire china set and only if packed or damaged by us.

The burden of proof is on you, the customer. Please inspect all items moved as they enter the new property or storage. Please do not discard any damaged items or call with a damage complaint after the crew has left the job site. We require first chance to repair any damaged item unless it is a total loss. Please do not have it repaired and send us a bill, this will not be paid. 

Not all items are covered. If you require more insurance than is offered above please consult the appropriate insurance company or other professional to assist you in this decision. (We also recommend checking your warranties and renter’s / homeowner’s policy to see if it provides any coverage.)

Unusual request are not covered. If an item does not fit or is too heavy and you request the mover continue, this is not covered, you assume all liability. If the mover says it is not covered, it is not covered.​​

Items That Are Not Covered Include :

Items of inherent vice are not covered. This includes particle board, pressed board, glue board, or any piece where natural wear and tear has compromised the piece and made it susceptible to damage, i.e., a piece of furniture where the fasteners have rusted, been repaired, glue has cracked, or a where old wood is splitting. Glass with cracks that may break further. Some of your antique and older items should be pointed out to movers because they may not be covered.

Items that can be repaired easily with a new screw and or glue.

Items, walls or flooring may get dented, scratched or nicked during the moving process. Some of these items may have prior wear and tear that was not seen by customer prior to moving. These items are not replaced as a loss. This is normal wear and tear.​

Items that have been placed in storage to be moved at a later date. (Entering your storage can make items shift and cause scratches and or damage.) Furniture pads must be used to protect your items and this will not fully prevent damage if you are moving and removing items. Natural disaster or acts of terrorism are also not covered

Items of extraordinary value (i.e valuable, antique, one of a kind). Please inform a supervisor before your move if you think you might have an item of extraordinary value. These are not covered and may need a specialty move.

We recommend you create an inventory of your items, including both a weight and estimated depreciated or full-replacement value. (Hint – a rough weight estimate is 900 lbs. to 2,000 lbs. per room, including boxes and furniture)


Important Things To Know :

Hourly estimates are not a flat rate and we require a minimum for moving labor. Your move may require less or additional hours and may require more than one trip.

​​**REMEMBER** You can stop the movers at any time if you feel you cannot afford the additional hourly rate after the minimum hours has been met. No refunds for unused time (within the 3 hour minimum). Half hours are round up to nearest hour. No refunds if you forget to call and cancel. No refunds if you show up late. You will be charged at least the minimum for the amount of movers hired with our 3 hour minimum if you do not cancel within 24 hours.Your hourly rate starts when movers arrive on site (or when travel time starts out of the area).

The estimate can only give you an idea of cost. Estimators don’t know exactly how long a move will take. Some moves may require a lot more time once every item in the home is revealed within attics, cabinets, closets, garage and storage. Others may take less if packed well and the customer is a minimalist or items have been sold.

We accept cash, MC, Visa or Discover. No personal checks are accepted.

We reserve the right to refuse serve at any time for any reason.​​

Your payment authorization​​ and acceptance of job is acceptance of all terms.


Please be sure to cancel any scheduled services within 24 hours of service or you will be charged
​ the minimum amount for the number of movers scheduled.​​

Deposits and balances are to be paid daily to commence and complete the day,  no exception.

Any bills not paid upon completion will incur additional 10% finance charges to accrue monthly.

Any company forms required must be provided by customer. We do not create new forms for each jobsite. no exceptions. ​​​

Your card on file will be charged for any supplies, tools or items not returned to us and is not refundable. ​​

Furniture blankets are paid for by customer if being held in storage. If returned you will receive a refund of the balance after the daily ​fees are deducted which are .50 cents per blanket per day. (Please understand that these blankets are replaced when purchased and are not available for use.)

Movers are not allowed to drive your rental truck and we are not liable for any damage to your truck, moving vehicle or trailer. Please opt for the rental insurance.

A $25.00 fee will be charged for each appliance to be moved​​. Stair may be an additional fee.​​

We wrap all items to the best of our ability but sometimes things get dirty during a move especially during rainy and winter months. This is not considered a loss of property. This includes dirt on carpeting or floors. Movers do not wear booties to protect flooring. This is a safety hazard while moving. Please request carpet protection 3m film (at a charge) or purchase at a home/moving store and place on required areas. This will add time to your estimate if movers place.

Estimated start dates may be changed if not available at time of acceptance and/or your deposit is not on file.

All claims must be submitted to us within 3 days after the move and must be pointed out to the crew and / or supervisor prior to leaving a completed job site. Movers will take notes and pictures to inform the office. You may also send an email along with additional pictures. We can not take responsibility at a later time because items may be damaged after we have vacated the job site.

Damage must be noted on signed estimate.

We randomly turn items on end to move them. Please remove loose items that may fall out or get broken. If the item is not fragile, loose and okay to move about inside the furniture it may stay. We are not responsible for items that may fall out or become disarrayed.

Please remove personal items from furniture, drawers may be removed due to the weight of the item.

Items may get dented, scratched or nicked during the moving process. Some of these items may have prior wear and tear that was not seen by customer prior to moving. These items are not replaced as a loss.

Check all of your items prior to your move. Screws maybe missing and /or glue may need to be applied. These items are not replaced as a loss.

If an item is fragile please either mark it as so or inform the movers. If we pick up an item and it falls apart we are not liable.

Movers may take breaks and a lunch. Not excessive but it is required by law.

​​Please make yourself available to movers or have someone there to direct and instruct disassembly / reassembly, answer questions or address any issues if needed. If thing are not handled in a manner acceptable to you we are not liable.

​​Instructions may be required to assemble items. We cannot come back to rearrange your items or change things later without the hourly minimum charge.

There are additional fees when hauling to the dump or recycling. These items vary because it depends on the charge from the dump or recycling site on top of our charges.

​​​​​Movers accept gratuity, please let us know if you want it charged to your card upon completion.

Please ask all questions prior to your move so that there is no confusion at the completion when it is time to make payment.



Moving Tips:​​
​​
First thing to remember when you do your packing is that your moving service is not responsible for items ​inside of your packed boxes. Wrap items carefully and mark your boxes well. Especially if fragile.

Having an estimator visit prior to your move is beneficial to you. If you hire labor and elect to not have a walk through, your move may be delayed if additional movers are required last minute or your move may be cut ​short if you book for 3 hours and it takes 6 hours. Another job maybe booked after yours and the movers may have to leave.

Limit weight of cartons, when possible, to a maximum weight of 50 pounds to make handling easier.

Provide plenty of cushioning inside of boxes to absorb shock during move.

Use sturdy cartons that closed and are taped well.

Use packing tape​​ only, duct tape is not good for packing.

Take high value items with you, not on the moving truck.​​ Insurance won't cover.

Make sure cartons are firmly packed and do not rattle, bulge.

Do not mix items from different rooms in the same carton, when possible.

Start with an overnight kit, these are things you need the first couple of nights and don't want to look for when you arrive at your new destination. Then pack items that you have not used in a while. Next, pack things used but wont be needed for a while. Lastly pack the things you'll need until moving day.

Empty drawers of dangerous weapons, personals, breakable and expensive items. However, blankets, sweaters, bath towels and similar soft, lightweight goods may be left in drawers. Furniture with drawers may be flipped up on sides when loaded onto truck, this may cause items to fall out.

Pack similar items together. i.e. do not pack a glass figurine in the same box with your bowling ball.

Keep all parts or pairs of things together. i.e. curtain rod hangers, mirror bolts and other small hardware items should be placed in a seal-able bag and taped or tied securely to the article to which they belong.

Take pictures of how your electronics are connected before you disconnect. Wind electrical cords, fastening them so they do not dangle. They can trip a mover or be stepped on and damaged.​​

Wrap items individually in paper; use newspapers, tissue paper, paper towels or even facial tissue for fine china, crystal and delicate items.

For an extra cushioning place a few layers of crushed paper, bubble wrap or peanuts in the bottom of a carton for cushioning.

​​Pack in layers with heavy items at the bottom and lightest on top.

​​Cushion well, use sheets of paper to fill holes or cardboard cut from cartons.

​Place small boxes in a single large box this will save time during the move.

Remember if you can’t lift a box neither can the mover. So do not overload.

Seal cartons tightly with tape.

When finished with each carton, write the contents and room on the side of the carton for easy viewing while cartons are stacked. You can also number the boxes and list contents on a pad or in your smart phone. This will help the movers unload efficiently.

Remove the light bulb and lamp shades, wrap the base, harp and bulb separately. Do not rap the shade in
​newspaper it may get dirty. More than one well-cushioned lamp may be packed in a carton.

Glass table tops, marble slabs, large mirrors, paintings, statues & large vases. All are easily damaged.
​Glass might shatter, and marble slabs can crack at veins. Paper never should be permitted to touch
​the surface of an oil painting.

Pack books of the same general size together. Remember books are heavy so limit the amount per box.

Expensively bound volumes or those of special sentimental value should be individually wrapped before packing.

If possible, carry irreplaceable and expensive items with you to destination.

Mark any item that can break as FRAGILE.

Clothing left on hangers and placed in wardrobe cartons used by moving companies will arrive at destination wrinkle-free. You might want to purchase several of these special cartons from your moving company. One will hold about two feet of clothing on hangers. If not they can be wrapped in blankets, rolled and unrolled at the new destination. This may get some clothing dirty so wardrobe boxes are recommended.

If you have heavy furniture or file cabinets it is recommended that you empty the contents. Some lightweight clothing or items may be left in drawers but remember the movers may turn items on thier sides which may cause small or loose items to fall out become dis arra If items are in drawers remember to remove loose items. The drawer maybe turned onto its side during the move and contents may move about or fall out. Also, heavy flimsy drawers may be damaged if contents are heavy.

Shoes and shoe boxes should be placed in a large carton.

It is recommended that you take your furs with you rather than having them moved on the van.

Special mattress bags in various sizes are available from your moving company for a charge. Please request ahead of time.

Pre-move preparation is required for many major appliances. Set an appointment with a service technician to prepare your major appliances for shipment — or have your agent send someone out who is authorized to perform this service.

Small appliances, such as clocks, small radios and other small appliances should be wrapped individually and packed in a carton cushioned with crushed paper.

Steam irons should be emptied of all water, wrapped and placed in the cushioned bottom of a box.

Remove all batteries before packing items. Especially if going into a storage.

Before moving day, dismantle children's swing sets, TV antennas and garden sheds. Gather pieces and bundle together with nylon cord. Place small hardware in a cloth bag and securely attach to corresponding equipment. The movers can assist on moving day but this will add hours to your move.

Prepare lawn mower by draining gasoline prior to the day of loading.

Take only food items you are sure will travel well. Do not take anything perishable.
Open boxes of dried or powdered foods such as rice, macaroni and cereals should be sealed with tape. Small containers of herbs and spices, condiments, bouillon cubes, gelatin, flavorings, etc. should be placed together in a small box before packing in a large carton. Cover holes of shaker-type containers and seal with tape.

​Canned goods are heavy, the amount placed in one carton should be limited.

Don't forget to schedule disconnect and reconnects ahead of time, some places are closed on weekends and do not handle last minute changes. Change your address with your job, post office, bank, utilities and credit cards.​​

Please make yourself available to movers or have someone there to direct on moving day. We cannot come back to rearrange your items later without the hourly minimum charge.​
